Engineering Simulator is a software solution that dynamically analyses all information from the site to make oil extraction effective and to avert possible malfunction, which means minimizing idle time and environmental risks.
The project is unique for both Russian and foreign software engineering. Based on well specifications, the simulator can make recommendations for optimal downhole pumping and surface equipment and adjustment of its operating parameters and schedule regulation; it can also warn of the possible oil production problems and suggest control measures, as well as predict the remaining lifetime of the downhole equipment and line pipes. Moreover, the simulator acts as a training system for students and young professionals of oil companies helping to prepare the next generation of oil production specialists.
The testing of the simulator on oil and gas equipment showed a 5% increase in extraction and a 25-30% decrease in the consumption of electricity needed to run the equipment.
